In effect, the origin of such an idea would be totally inexplicable unless we arrive at the conclusion that it comes from outside man with all its attributes of objectivity, universality, simplicity, eternity, etc. The idea is the light which comes to man and makes him intelligent. Rosmini deals with being in the six volumes of Theosophy, in its three forms – ideal being, real being, moral being – and this study clears an endless number of ontological problems which have been with us from the time of Parmenides, Plato, Aristotle, to the philosophers of the Middle Ages, right up to the times of Hegel and Kant.
